Hello!
My name is Roger Griffin. I am an investor in 4 Broadway shows and the book writer and co-author of the new musical, After Happily Ever After. Like any good fairy tale character, I live in the woods with my wife and enjoy the companionship of fox and deer, owl and hawk, woodchuck and prairie wolf.
As an unabashed romantic, I weep at the sight of young lovers in love, celebrate small acts of kindness, and laugh at every opportunity. So, it was only natural I should try conjuring up as many laughs and sweet moments as possible at a time when laughter and kindness are so sorely needed.
To that end, I have joined forces with composer Stephen Weiner (two-time Richard Rodgers Award winner, Jonathan Larsen Grant recipient, and Obie, Lortel, Drama Desk nominee) and lyricist Susan DiLallo (two-time Outer Critics Circle nominee, Kleban Prize winner, Richard Rodgers Award winner, and Jonathan Larson Grant recipient). Together, we have created an enchanting little musical with a cast of 6 actors playing 41 characters. The fact that it can be performed in black box theatres with a few simple costume pieces, or in larger spaces with fully realized sets and costumes makes it possible for a greater number of venues to mount a production, which should also provide a stronger revenue stream once the show becomes available to schools and community theatres in the future.
Recently, After Happily Ever After had a workshop production Off-Broadway as part of The Players Theatre Self-Funded Residency Program, and enjoyed the first extended run in the history of the Residency. Now, Susan, Steve and I are looking to collaborate with a producer interested in continuing the development of the show as we begin the next phase of the journey ahead.
We hope you will consider joining us and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Roger, Susan and Steve
